Roots to Success is a youth employment readiness and community volunteering program designed to help young people build real-world job skills, gain confidence, and give back to their community.
This program blends employment skills training with hands-on community volunteering, allowing youth to learn by doing — not just listening. Participants gain practical experience, transferable skills, and a stronger understanding of responsibility, teamwork, and community contribution.
Who This Program Is For
- First Nations youth
- Youth preparing for summer employment or first jobs
- Youth involved in employment, education, or prevention programs
- Participants with little or no previous work experience
No prior job experience is required. This program is designed to meet youth where they are and build skills step-by-step.
Program Overview
Roots to Success focuses on preparing youth for the workforce while reinforcing the importance of community, accountability, and giving back.
Participants develop essential employment skills while also gaining hands-on experience through in-community volunteering, helping youth see themselves as capable, valued contributors.
This program supports both individual growth and community capacity.
